Learning our first sound
Today we learnt our first sound - S sausages are sizzling. We looked at lots of pictures that begin with the S sound we had to go at writing the grapheme and made sausages and snakes at the art and Play-Doh areas!
Reading Books
Today your child should be bringing home a plastic folder with a 'reading book' in it. At the moment these books don't have words in them but are a chance for you to share the pictures, discuss what is happening and spot different objects. As we start to learn our sounds, we will introduce books with words in them. In the folder there will also be the sounds we have looked at this week.
